All schools closed on 11th August due to weather alert in Dehradun
According to the forecast received from the India Meteorological Department, Dehradun and NDMP, heavy to very heavy rains are expected at some places in Dehradun district on August 11, 2025. In some areas, heavy to very heavy rainfall is also expected along with lightning and strong thunder, due to which an ‘Orange Alert’ has been issued.
In view of the possibility of heavy rains and incidents like possible landslides / rock falls, the district administration has taken precaution and declared a day’s holiday on Monday, 11 August 2025 in all government, non-government and private schools as well as Anganwadi centers of the district.
District Magistrate / Chairman, District Disaster Management Authority Dehradun issued an order and clarified that this decision has been taken in view of the safety of the students and the potential danger.
