Construction work at Doon railway station to effect movement of 16 trains for over a month

Railway officials said on Friday that due to construction and maintenance work at Doon station, a 36-day traffic block is being put into effect from April 17 to May 22, as a result of which 16 trains including the New Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi , Indore-Dehradun Express, Ujjaini Express, Madurai- Dehradun Superfast Express and Howrah-Dehradun Upasana Express will not come till Dehradun but instead terminate at Haridwar. Passengers from Dehradun wishing to board these trains will also have to travel to Haridwar, the officials said.

Chief public relations officer (CPRO), Northern Railways, Neeraj Sharma said, “We have started informing about this temporary block well in advance so that people do not face any problem and can make travel plans accordingly. I would like to reiterate that the trains have not been cancelled or terminated but would instead be operating from Haridwar. 16 trains will be impacted due to the repair work but the schedules of 22 other trains will not be affected and they will arrive at and depart from Dehradun as per their original schedule. On our part, we will also try to assist travellers in every possible way.”
