Holiday declared on August 1 in schools of Dehradun district as heavy rains continue
Heavy rains continue to batter Uttarakhand. From this morning, torrential rains are continuing from the mountains to the plains. The Meteorological Center has also issued an alert of heavy rain in the state on Thursday, August 1. As a result, the District administration has declared a one day holiday on August 1, 2024 in all public and private schools from class 1 to 12 in Dehradun district.
According to the weather forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department, Meteorological Centre, Dehradun, (Red Alert) was issued on 31st July, 2024 and (Orange Alert) on 01st August, 2024, in which the possibility of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall has been expressed in some districts of Uttarakhand state.
