Major Chitresh Bisht from Dehradun martyred while diffusing bomb in J&K

Another brave-heart from Uttarakhand has been martyred while protecting the country. Major Chitresh Bisht, posted in Jammu and Kashmir, was going to the LoC in Naushera sector of Rajouri for inspection. During this time there was an explosion while diffusing the IED planted there. The major lost his life in the incident. Uttarakhand Governor Baby Rani Maurya and Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat expressed sorrow over the martyrdom of Major Chitresh Bisht.
Originally a resident of Pipali, Almora district, Major Chitresh Bisht alias Sonu’s family lives in the Nehru colony of Dehradun. His father SS Bisht is retired police inspector. Chitresh was supposed to get married on March 7, the card was also printed for it.

Chitresh’s father went to share the card of marriage at noon. In the evening, when a friend of Chitresh’s called, the family got the news of his martyrdom. Chitresh went on duty after leave on February 3. Earlier, Chitresh went to Mau in the field of training. Chitresh’s father told that on February 28, Chitresh had to come home on a holiday for marriage.
CM Trivendra Singh Rawat said that “I express my condolences to his family by bowing down to the sacrifice of Chitresh. Together I assure that the whole country stands with them in this hour of sadness.”
