No mass New Year celebrations in Dehradun; government issues order
Incase you are planning to bid adieu to 2020 with a grand party then this news is important for you. In Dehradun, mass programs have been banned in public places in view of the rising outbreak of Coronavirus. District Magistrate Dr. Ashish Shrivastava has issued orders in this regards on Tuesday.
According to the order, public events and parties will not be held on December 25, December 31 and January 1 at hotels, restaurants, bars and other public places in the district. If anyone violates it then action will be taken under the Disaster Management Act 2005 and Uttarakhand Pandemic Disease Covid-19 Act.
Tourists welcome in Uttarakhand
Tourism Minister Satpal Maharaj said that tourists coming to Uttarakhand on Christmas festival are welcome. He called upon the tourists to enjoy the holidays by following the guidelines issued by the government.
The tourism minister said that tourists may come to Uttarakhand to celebrate Christmas, but they have to follow the guidelines of Covid. Like every year, this year also the hotels and tourist places of Uttarakhand are ready to welcome tourists.
Tourism Secretary Dilip Javalkar said that snow falls at many places in Uttarakhand, which makes Christmas special. Tourists from other states are planning to come to Uttarakhand to celebrate Christmas. Hope to enjoy the holidays this time too, following the guidelines of Covid.
President of Uttarakhand Hotel Association Sandeep Sahani said that good bookings are being received from Delhi, Chandigarh and other states. Like last year, this time also various hotels are organizing a theme party and cake ceremony to celebrate the Christmas festival.
Nainital Hotel and Restaurant Association (NHRA) President Dinesh Shah said that they are getting good bookings for Christmas. Departmental officers are also regularly checking hotels and restaurants to follow the Covid guide line.
