Nomination for Uttarakhand municipal elections starts from today

Nominations for elections in 100 municipal bodies of the state will start from Friday. For this, the District Election Officers have completed the preparations for nomination in the respective bodies. The nomination process has started from 10 am.
According to the State Election Commission, nomination forms can be purchased and submitted from 27 to 30 December till 5 pm. This time, along with the nomination form, the candidates will also have to give an affidavit regarding their background. In this, they will have to give information from their education to criminal cases.
This information will be disseminated from the level of the District Election Officer, so that the voters can get complete information about their candidate. Nomination papers will be scrutinized on 31 December and 1 January. On January 2, from 10 am to 4 pm, the opportunity to withdraw the name will be given.
After this, the final list will be released. Election symbols will be allotted on January 3. Voting will be held on 23 January from 8 am to 5 pm and counting of votes will be held on 25 January from 8 am. An affidavit regarding expenditure will also have to be given in the civic elections.
While increasing the limit of election expenditure, the State Election Commission has appointed expenditure observers for the first time. Assistant expenditure observers will also be appointed at the level of each District Magistrate to monitor the expenditure.
