Over 2000 students get degrees in second convocation of Doon University

In the second convocation ceremony of Doon University, 2,102 students were awarded degrees on Wednesday. In which 93 were awarded the Gold Medal.

Chancellor Governor Lt. Gen (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh and Vice Chancellor Dr. Surekha Dangwal distributed the degrees to the gold medal winners. During this, Higher Education Minister Dr Dhan Singh and Mata Mangala pioneer of Hans foundation were also present. A total of 1269 students of the year 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 were awarded bachelor’s degrees in graduation and post graduation from all the departments in the ceremony. A total of 802 students were awarded post graduation degrees and a total of 29 research scholars were awarded PhD degrees. Two students got MPhil degrees. During this, the founder of Hans Foundation, Mata Mangala was given the honorary degree of D.Litt.

In the program Vice Chancellor Professor Surekha Dangwal enumerated the achievements of the university. The Governor said that there is no substitute for hard work. He told the students that ‘you are going with a degree, this is your first step towards the future.’
