Uttarakhand Premier League 2023 to begin from June 18

The thrill of cricket will start from June 22 in the capital Dehradun. 18 matches of six teams will be played in the first edition of the Uttarakhand Premier League being organized by the Cricket Association of Uttarakhand (CAU). On the lines of IPL all the matches will be played in day and night. There will be nine matches in the day and nine matches in the night.

Six teams from across the state will participate in the T-20 match to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Dehradun. Talking to reporters at Abhimanyu Cricket Academy in Guniyal village on Sunday regarding the league, CAU spokesperson Vijay Pratap Malla said, this is the first professional league after CAU got recognition. Each team consists of 18 players. The teams are selected by the selection committee of CAU.

He told that, Akash Madhwal, Rajan Kumar, Aditya Tare, who have shown their mettle in IPL, will also show their mettle in UPL. The matches will be played from 3:30 pm and 7:30 pm. And in the evening, cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal unveiled the trophy and dress of UPL. CAU T-20 Cricket Chairman Indramohan Barthwal, UPL Director Anuj Bansal, UC Joshi etc were present on the occasion.
