Uttarakhand weather update: Yellow alert for frost and fog in Doon
The weather in Doon remains dry and frost at night and fog in the morning are increasing difficulties. There is no possibility of change in the weather for the next few days. According to the Meteorological Department, light fog may prevail in Doon today amid dry weather. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued regarding dense fog in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar.
On Thursday, after light mist and fog in the morning in Doon, bright sunshine prevailed later in the day. Due to which the heat remained during the day. Apart from this, some increase was also recorded in the night mercury. However, in the next few days, due to the fall in the minimum temperature, there may be severe cold at night. The mercury has started falling in the surrounding mountainous areas and the cold is increasing.
According to the Director of the Meteorological Center, Bikram Singh, the weather is expected to remain dry in Doon. Frost in the mountains and fog in the plains may increase difficulties. There may be a slight drop in mercury. The effect of dense fog may remain in the plains including Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar for two days.
Severe cold in Nainital
The increase in cold in the lake city has started affecting the life of the people. Due to the increase in cold in the evening, the hustle and bustle in the markets also disappeared. As the day progressed, clouds also started spreading in the city and the fog knocked several times, increasing the cold.
Doon’s AQI less than 100 for five days
Air pollution in Dehradun has reduced to a great extent in the last few days. Now it has almost reached the satisfactory category. For the last five days, the average AQI of Doon is being recorded below 100, which is a matter of relief. A week ago it had reached more than two hundred and fifty. However, problems persist in some parts of the plains due to dense fog and mist.
