Weather update: Doon’s weather to remain dry for next few days
The weather is likely to remain dry in the entire Uttarakhand including Doon for the next five days. During this time, the night temperature is likely to fall rapidly. From December 1, a decrease of three to four degrees Celsius can be recorded in the night temperature. Due to bright sunshine during the day, the difference between day and night temperatures is likely to be relatively higher.
On Friday, the maximum temperature of Doon was recorded one degree above normal at 24.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 9.6 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature of Pantnagar was two degrees above normal at 27.0 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was one degree above normal at 8.4 degrees Celsius.
According to Bikram Singh, Director of the Meteorological Center in Dehradun, the effect of western disturbance is not much in the state at present. This is the reason that the sky will remain clear from the mountains to the plains. However, the cold has started increasing in the morning and evening. The minimum temperature in the plains of Uttarakhand has been recorded at 8-9 degrees Celsius and the maximum at 25-26 degrees Celsius. At the same time, the minimum temperature in the hilly areas has been recorded at 4-5 degrees and the maximum at 15-16 degrees Celsius. Despite the drop in temperature, snowfall will still have to be waited for.
