Thousands take dip on Baisakhi in Haridwar

In the holy city of Haridwar, a crowd of devotees gathered since morning on the occasion of Baisakhi festival. Devotees took a holy dip at various Ganga ghats including Har Ki Pauri.
The police has issued a traffic plan for the Baisakhi bathing festival. Entry of heavy vehicles has been prohibited in the city from 12 o’clock on Saturday night. Heavy vehicles will remain banned till the bathing is over. Senior Superintendent of Police Pramod Singh Dobal has decided the route and parking place and has given instructions to strictly follow the plan.
On the occasion of Baisakhi, the wheat crop is ready and harvesting starts from this day. While on this day the Khalsa sect was also established. This is the reason why this festival is celebrated with great pomp in the Hindu and Sikh community. Ganga bath has special importance on Baisakhi. Due to the importance of bathing, a large number of devotees have reached Haridwar and are earning virtue by bathing in the holy river.
At the same time, due to Baisakhi, the fair area has been divided into four super zones, 13 zones and 40 sectors. The entire fair area has been divided into 04 super zones, 13 zones and 40 sectors. The fair area is being monitored through CCTV cameras from the control room.
Policemen in plain clothes have also been deployed to detect suspicious activities. BDS and dog squads are constantly monitoring the fair area by being active in the fair area.
