Agni-5 successfully tested in Odisha

India has successfully tested its first intercontinental ballistic missile Agni-5. It was tested on Wednesday at the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha.

It is equipped with Multiple Independently Targetable Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology. That is, it can be launched on multiple targets simultaneously. Its first test was done in April 2012.

The range of Agni-5 is 5000 km. The missile will be able to carry a 7500 kg bunker buster warhead and go to a depth of 100 meters in the ground and destroy the enemy’s nuclear system, radar system, control center, weapon storage.
