AQI crosses 400 in many parts of Delhi
The air of the national capital Delhi is getting very bad due to pollution. On Monday, the Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded above 400 in most places of Delhi. Which comes in the ‘very bad’ category. Due to pollution, a thick layer of smog has covered the city. People are facing problems due to air pollution. Many people are having problems of burning eyes and sore throat.
AQI was recorded in the ‘severe’ category in Delhi’s Anand Vihar, Ashok Vihar, Bawana, Dwarka, Jahangirpuri, Mundka, NSIT Dwarka, Najafgarh, Nehru Nagar, Patparganj, Punjabi Bagh, Rohini, Wazirpur and Vivek Vihar. The Air Quality Index (AQI) at Anand Vihar at 6 am was 432, Bawana 406, Wazirpur 411, Vivek Vihar 418, Mundak 402 and Jahangirpuri 412.

An AQI between zero and 50 is considered ‘good’. An AQI between 51 and 100 is considered ‘satisfactory’. An AQI between 101 and 200 is considered ‘moderate’. An AQI between 201 and 300 is considered ‘bad’. An AQI between 301 and 400 is ‘very bad’. An AQI between 401 and 450 is ‘severe’. An AQI above 450 is considered ‘very severe’.
AQI 318 was recorded at Vikas Sadan, a monitoring station in Gurugram, adjacent to Delhi. While 250 has been recorded at Faridabad’s monitoring station New Industrial Town.
The weather department has predicted light fog in Delhi on Monday morning and the maximum and minimum temperatures will be 34 and 17 degrees Celsius respectively.
