BJP releases first list of candidates for Lok Sabha elections 2019

The BJP’s first list of candidates was released for the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. A list of 184 candidates from 20 states was released. The Central Election Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday met for the third time to discuss the names of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. The candidates’ names were finalized in most seats for the first few phases of elections. PM Narendra Modi will contest from Varanasi BJP president Amit Shah will contest from Gandhinagar. In Bihar, the candidates on all 17 seats have been finalized. The candidates will be announced in Bihar with the alliance.

Elections are scheduled to be held in 7 phases from April 11 to 19 May. Counting will take place on May 23 after seven phases of polling from April 11 to May 19. It is notable that in 2014, the 16th Lok Sabha election was made in nine phases.
The BJP’s first list consists of 181 candidates from 20 states. Along with this, names of candidates of three Union Territories have also been announced. Vishal Jolly from Andaman Nicobar Islands, Natubhai Somabhai Patel from Dadar and Nagar Haveli and Abdul Khadir from Lakshadweep (Secured) will land in the electoral fray.
