As soon as the sun rose on the moon on the evening of 23 August, ISRO’s Chandrayaan 3 created history by landing on its south pole. With this, India has become the first country in the world to successfully land on the South Pole of the Moon.
Chandrayaan 3 started the landing process on Wednesday evening at 5:44 pm IST. After this, in the next 20 minutes, it completed the journey of 25 km from the final orbit of the Moon. The lander of Chandrayaan 3 took the first step on the moon at 6:40 pm.
ISRO told that all the sensors of Lander-Rover are being tested. If all goes well, the rover will be taken out after 3-4 hours by giving a command from ISRO. If things do not happen on a fixed scale, then the decision to take out the rover will be taken after 24 hours.
ISRO director S. Somnath said- The next 14 days are very important for us. It may also take a day for the Pragyan rover to come out. Pragyan will give us information about the atmosphere of the moon. We have many missions lined up. Soon Aditya L1 will be sent to Sun. Work on Gaganyaan is also going on.
After reaching the moon, Chandrayaan 3 sent a message –’ I have reached my destination’. While congratulating the countrymen from South Africa, Prime Minister Modi said – now the moon is not far away.
The Lander Module (LM) of Chandrayaan-3 landed on the lunar surface on Wednesday evening. India has become the first country in the world to reach the South Pole of the Moon. The lander module consisting of the lander (Vikram) and the rover (Pragyan) made a soft landing on the south polar region of the Moon. Along with this record, another new record has been made.
More than 8 million people were watched the landing of Chandrayaan 3 live on ISRO’s YouTube channel, which is a record. ISRO’s channel has become the first such channel in the world to gain the maximum number of users in live streaming.
Before the landing of Chandrayaan-3, the number of subscribers of ISRO’s YouTube channel was 2.68 million i.e. about 26 lakhs, which has now increased to 35 lakhs after the successful landing.
