Congress releases manifesto for Lok Sabha elections 2019
Congress President Rahul Gandhi has released a manifesto for the party for General Assembly of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Speaking at a press conference Congress announced its plans if it came to power in the upcoming elections . It has been called the ‘Jan Awaj (public voice)’. Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh are also present with Rahul.

Rahul Gandhi said that “the manifesto has not been behind closed doors and prepared in public. Just like the Congress’s election symbol has five fingers in hand, similarly our manifesto mentions five big things. Farmers and jobs are the biggest issues in this country.”
Highlights of Congress manifesto:
- Every year, 20 per cent of the poor get Rs 72 thousand annually under the scheme of NYAY.
- By March 2020, 22 lakh vacant posts will be filled up.
- Youth will get permanent employment.
- GST will be made easy.
- Increase from 100 days to 150 days employment guarantee in MNREGA
- New businesses do not need any approval for 3 years.
- 10 lakh jobs in Gram Panchayat.
- 6 percent of GDP will be spent on education.
- No criminal case against farmers if they are unable to repay their debt.
- Government hospitals will be upgraded.
- Check on violent mob, new legislation in the Lok Sabha.
Describing the process of making the manifesto, the convener of the committee, Rajiv Gowda, said that the voice of the people has been heard. Ideas were collected from the whole country, talked to the public and after that those ideas were made part of the manifesto. Total 1 lakh 60 thousand suggestions were received by the party.
Chairman of the Declaration Committee P Chidambaram said that “it has taken care of women, small businesses, education, health and national security. When asked about the biggest issue of women from Mumbai, the reply was received – Women’s Security. There were about five crore jobs lost during the Modi Government.”
Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said that this will be a manifesto showing the path of the future. Today’s day for Congress will be historic. Poverty, illness, disease, have all been addressed in it. This manifesto will be the fulfillment of people’s expectations, aspirations.
It is believed that minimum income scheme, that is, NYAY, justice will be presented prominently. Under this, promise has been given to 5 crore families of the country or to 25 crore people to get Rs. 72 thousand annually. Apart from this, giving 22 lakh jobs to the youth will also be a part of the manifesto. Rahul Gandhi has already announced his decision to abolish the policy commission, the promise will also be a part of the manifesto.
Meanwhile, Bhalchandra, a member of the Declaration Committee, has said that if Congress comes to power, the order will be issued to investigate Rafale deal on the very first day.
