Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 Results: BJP to form government after 27 years

BJP government will be formed in Delhi after 27 years. The party won 48 out of 70 seats, while AAP won 22 seats. Congress could not win even a single seat. In 2020, BJP had won only 8 seats, this time it gained 40 seats. At the same time, AAP lost 40 seats. BJP contested on 68 seats this time. Two seats were won by its allies Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and JDU.

This time AAP’s vote share has decreased by 10% compared to 2020. At the same time, BJP+’s vote share has increased by 9%. Congress’s vote share has also increased by 2%, but the party has been confined to zero for 3 consecutive assembly elections. 67 out of 70 Congress candidates lost their deposits. The margin of AAP’s defeat on 14 seats is less than the votes received by Congress.
