Delhi government launches Mahila Samridhi Yojana on International Women’s Day

The Delhi government launched the Mahila Samridhi Yojana on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Under this, women from BPL (poor) families will be given Rs 2500 every month.

There are 72 lakh women voters in Delhi. It is estimated that about 20 lakh women will benefit from this scheme.

BJP President JP Nadda announced the launch of the scheme at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. Earlier, the scheme was approved in the Delhi Cabinet meeting on Saturday morning.

Launching the scheme, Nadda said – ‘I congratulate CM Rekha Gupta and others that Rs 5100 crore has been released to implement this scheme in Delhi. The scheme will be started immediately.’

Acknowledging the role of women in BJP’s electoral success, Nadda said, ‘Delhi’s victory was not possible without the support of women.’

During the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP had promised to give Rs 2500 to women against AAP’s promise of giving Rs 2100 every month.

The party benefited from this and BJP returned to power after 26 years by winning 48 out of 70 seats, while AAP was reduced to 22 seats.

Talking to the media, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said – ‘We have formed a committee. I will personally chair it. Ministers Pravesh Verma, Kapil Mishra and Ashish Sood will also be in it. The committee will discuss making a portal of the scheme, deciding the rules and conditions.’

Separate portal for registration To avail the benefits of Mahila Samridhi Yojana, women will have to do e-registration. For this, a portal and mobile app will be launched. Women will be able to apply by submitting necessary documents like voter card, ration card, Aadhaar card and income certificate.
