Fengal hit the coast of Sri Lanka earlier this week, killing at least 12 people, including six children.
Chennai International Airport temporarily closed
In view of Cyclone Fengal, Chennai International Airport has been temporarily closed till 7 pm. Due to the rain, waterlogging has been reported from many areas of the city.
Heavy rains expected in many districts of Tamil Nadu
The India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rains in Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Kallakurichi and Cuddalore districts of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
