India summons Pak diplomat over ceasefire violations at LoC
On the eve of Deepawali, India had lodged a strong protest by summoning the chargé d’affaires (Acting High Commissioner) of the Pakistan High Commission for violating the Cease fire Violations. In a statement issued by the Ministry of External Affairs, it has been said that the Pakistani chargé d’affaires was summoned on Saturday. Strongly registering the protest, it was said that innocent civilians in different sectors were unintentionally targeted by Pakistani security forces on Friday. It was a well thought out action. The intention behind this was to create a disturbance in law and order, which is highly reprehensible. This act of Pakistan killed four innocent civilians and left 19 injured. Five soldiers of the security forces were also martyred.
Subsequently, a number of Pakistani targets were targeted by the anti-tank guided missile from the Indian Army and tremendous return-fire was carried out. Eight Pakistani soldiers were reportedly killed and 12 injured in this retaliation. India also protested strongly against Pakistan giving protection to terrorists. The protest said that firing is done on behalf of Pakistan to infiltrate terrorists. The Foreign Ministry said in a statement that India strongly condemns the targeting of innocent civilians by Pakistani forces. It is very disappointing that Pakistan chose a festive occasion in India and used heavy weapons to disturb peace in Jammu and Kashmir. According to official figures, Pakistan has executed 4,052 incidents of ceasefire violations in the current year as compared to 3,233 in 2019.
