Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile, Agni-4, successfully tested

A successful training launch of an Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile, Agni-4, was carried out at approximately 1930 hours on June 06, 2022 from APJ Abdul Kalam Island, Odisha. The successful test was part of routine user training launches carried out under the aegis of the Strategic Forces Command. The launch validated all operational parameters as also the reliability of the system. The successful test reaffirms India’s policy of having a ‘Credible Minimum Deterrence’ Capability.

Capable of carrying nuclear weapons

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, this test is part of routine training and clears India’s policy of credible minimum deterrence. As per reports, Agni-4 missile is capable of hitting targets up to 4000 km and it can also carry nuclear warheads.

India had successfully test-fired a naval anti-ship missile a few days back. Its taking an important step towards achieving self-reliance in specific missile technology and it was a step to show the commitment of the Navy for a self-reliant India. This successful test was done by the Indian Navy in collaboration with DRDO.
