Robbers dig 150 feet long tunnel to steal fuel from fuel line in New Delhi
In the capital’s Dwarka, Suraj Vihar area, a sensational case of stealing fuel from the Indian Oil fuel line has come to light. The robbery was made by digging out a 150-feet tunnel. The tunnel was started inside the room made in an empty plot of the area. This robbery from Indian Oil on such a large scale came to light due to a blast in the room.
There was a blast in the empty plot room on Tuesday night, alarming the local people. Information of the matter was given to the police besides the Fire Service Department. The blast was so violent that nearby houses were shaken. The police arrived at the spot and examined the blast. During the investigation, the police came to know that some crooks were stealing fuel from the Indian Oil pipeline gasoline passing through nearby making about 150 feet of tunnels in empty plots. Police have also arrested an accused in the spot, while his companions escaped from the spot. The arrested accused has been identified as Mohammad Tanveer (45). The accused said that under the guise of bumpers he was stealing the oil for the last five months.
Dwarka District Police Commissioner Shibesh Singh said that around 9.30 pm on Tuesday night there was a sharp blast in an empty plaza behind PNB Bank in Suraj Vihar area of Dwarka North Police Station area. The blast was so violent that the room was blown up. As soon as the information was received, the police arrived there with the Bomb Squad and other teams. Around 10 feet deep mattress was found in the area searched. During the investigation, a tunnel was found in the pit. This was going to the Indian Oil pipeline, which was passing around 150 feet feet away. To rob the petrol from there, the accused had a plastic pipeline of nearly two inches thick attached to the main line of gasoline. The oil was being stolen from the same. On Tuesday, there was a blast during the negligence during the theft.
