Special CBI court sentences Lalu Yadav to 3 and a half years in Fodder Scam

In the case of fodder scam today, the special court of the CBI today sentenced Lalu Yadav by video conferencing at four o’clock in the evening. Lalu has been sentenced to three and a half years. For this reason now he will have to go to the High Court for bail.

Other accused Mahendra, Rajaram, Sunil Kumar Sinha and Sushil Kumar will also have to serve a three and a half year sentence and 5 lakh fine. Phoolchand, Mahesh and Beck Julius face three and a half years of imprisonment and Rs 5 lakh fine. Sunil Gandhi, Tripurari, Ajay Agarwal, Gopinath have been awarded 7 years imprisonment and Rs 10 lac fine. Jagdish Sharma will be sentenced to seven years’ imprisonment and a fine of 10 lakhs.

The case involves an illegal withdrawal of Rs 89 lakhs and 27 thousand rupees from the Deoghar treasury attached to the fodder scam, in which a special CBI court of Ranchi adjudged the sentence of 16 convicts, including former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav.
