UP CM Yogi Adityanath miffed with ‘rebel’ attitude of police; new social media policy formulated
Up Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is reportedly very angry after police observed the black day on October 5 in protest against the arrest and dismissal of the accused Prashant Chaudhary in the Vivek Tiwari Murder case in Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow. He has also strongly condemned the police officers. Not only that, three policemen have been suspended and three police station incharge have been transferred to curb the rebellion. Two former policemen protesting have also been arrested.
Yogi Adityanath immediately expressed his displeasure by calling the Principal Secretary Home Arvind Kumar, DGP OP Singh and Chief Secretary Anup Chandra Pandey shortly after the incident.
If protests don’t end then there would be repercussions
Yogi Adityanath told the top officials about this matter that it is the result of negligence done at the highest level due to which the policemen have come to protest and are being so vocal. If this is not curbed immediately, then officials will also have to bear the brunt of it.
After the Chief Minister’s resentment, a new social media policy was created for the police personnel on behalf of the Police Department. Besides, the practice of teaching them how to deal with public has been started. Against this whole incident, IG Amitabh Thakur, posted in Lucknow, once again opposed the government.
He wrote on social media that there is no indiscipline to be standing with a colleague in case of injustice with any of his companions.
