Chances of rain in many areas of Uttarakhand, schools to remain closed in this district on July 4

As the weather changes, there is an forecast of heavy rain in many areas of Uttarakhand. In view of heavy rains, schools in Nainital district have been closed for tomorrow i.e, July 4, 2024. The district administration has issued an order saying that the school has been closed due to heavy rains. Schools from class 1 to 12 and Anganwadi centers will also remain closed.

The order states that according to the India Meteorological Department, Dehradun, as per the forecast issued on July 03, 2024, there is a possibility of heavy rain at some places and excessive rain at some places in the district from tomorrow i.e. July 04 to July 06 in Nainital. In view of this, a red alert has also been issued in the district. Also, at present, moderate to heavy rainfall is occurring in all (mountainous and plain) areas of the district, due to which there is a possibility of strong water flow in rivers / drains / ravines.

In view of the safety of the students, a one-day holiday has been declared in all government, semi-government and private schools (all educational institutions running from class 1 to 12) and all Anganwadi centers on Thursday, July 4. An order has also been issued by the DM of the district for this.

Director of the Meteorological Department, Dr. Bikram Singh said that a red alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rain in Nainital, Bageshwar, Champawat and heavy to very heavy rain in Almora, Pithoragarh and US Nagar.

On the other hand, an orange alert has been issued for heavy rain in Dehradun, Pauri, Tehri, Haridwar. There is a possibility of lightning and heavy rain here. There is also a possibility of rain in Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi, there will be a yellow alert for here.
