Haldwani rains: Devkhadi drain overflow causes widespread damage

Heavy rains occurred in Haldwani, Uttarakhand on Monday late night. Due to this, Devkhadi drain overflowed. Gayatri Nagar and Shivalik Vihar have suffered heavy losses due to the overflowing of the drain. According to the information of the administration, debris has entered about 300 to 400 houses here. This has made life difficult for the people. But the local administration is engaged in helping the people rapidly.

District Magistrate Vadana said that many teams of the district administration were engaged in the work of removing the debris on Tuesday. She said that a team of 100 people of Haldwani Municipal Corporation is working on a war footing to remove the debris since night.

Two JCBs and two tractors have also been engaged in removing the debris on the spot. She said that a survey is being done to provide assistance to the affected families. So far, assistance has been given to 100 affected families. Soon the assistance amount will be paid to the families as well.
