Like Dehradun, now city buses equipped with CCTV-GPS will run in Haldwani too
In the meeting of Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Haldwani Division, the proposal to start city bus service in the city from 21st June this year was approved. City buses will be run by private operators in the city who have been given three months to buy buses.
Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat has approved the operation of buses in the Regional Transport Authority meeting at Circuit House Kathgodam. Kumaon Commissioner Deepak Rawat, while taking the meeting of Regional Transport Authority, said that the city buses will be run by private operators who have been given three months to buy buses. Earlier, applications were sought for the operation of buses. Where after the application, the operation of buses was approved. For which routes have been fixed. Overall, city buses will be run in a radius of 168 km in Haldwani.
He further added that starting city bus service in the city will help in controlling the increasing traffic. He said that all buses will be based on environment-friendly CNG or BSVI so that pollution can be reduced. He said that the aim of the city bus service is not only to improve the traffic system but also to develop Haldwani as a clean and green city.
He said that keeping in mind the safety of passengers, special provisions will be made in all buses for the convenience of women, elderly and Divyangjans. These buses will get special identification marks so that passengers can easily identify them. City buses will also have CCTV, GPS, color board, route number.
City buses will run on these routes
From Ranibagh to Roadways Bus Stand, Stadium Road, Mukhani, Kusumkheda, Block, Fatehpur, Lamachaur, Bhakra, Kathgharia, Chaufula Chauraha, Chambalpul, Panchakkki, Hydel Gate and back to Ranibagh.
From Bus Station to Mangalpadav, Gandhi School, Teenpani, Uttarakhand Open University, TP Nagar, Dewalchaur, Panchayat Ghar, Pal College, Kusumkheda, Laldanth, Panchakkki, Mukhani, Kaladhungi Chauraha and back to Bus Station.
From Bus Station to Kathgodam Railway Station, Circuit House, Stadium, Teenpani, Gora Padav, Sugarcane Centre, TP Nagar, STH, Paddy Mill, Peeli Kothi, Mukhani, Kaladhungi Churane and back to Bus Stand.
From Bus Station to Sindhi Chauraha, Rampur Road, Dewalchaud, Birla School, Gas Godown Road, Central Hospital, from Mukhani to Kaladhungi Chauraha and back to Bus Stand.
From Bus Station to Durga City Centre, Nawabi Road, Mukhani, Kusumkheda, Kamaluwaganja, Lamachaur, Bhankhda.
