Uttarakhand Weather update: Snowfall from Nainital to Auli, Chakrata

Today, the weather changed from the mountains to the plains in Uttarakhand. Snowfall in popular hill stations including Dhanolti, Nainital and Auli has increased the cold, while in the plains, the temperature has also dropped due to fog along with rain. Also, cold winds have further increased the cold. On the other hand, the first snowfall of this year occurred in Nainital.
Snowfall occurred in Badrinath, Kedarnath Dham, Hemkund Sahib, Valley of Flowers, Auli as well as high altitude areas. Auli has also accumulated a large amount of snow after snowfall.
Chakrata also received snowfall today. Heavy snowfall has occurred in the region’s Laukhandi, Koti-Kanasar, Jardi, Bulhad, Devvan, Kerad. After snowfall, a sheet of snow several inches thick has frozen on the ground.
Snowfall in the mountainous areas has proved to be extremely beneficial for the crops and fruits of the local farmers. On Sunday morning, the hills and fields of Mukteshwar, Dhanachuli, Paharpani, Ramgarh, Kasiyalekh, Mana Gher, Chaurlekh area were seen surrounded by white sheets of snow.
Yellow fog alert
Meanwhile, according to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, the weather will be clear in the hill districts from January 13. Whereas, there is a possibility of fog in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar district. Today, the Meteorological Center has issued a yellow fog alert in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar district. Whereas, there is a possibility of thunder along with lightning in Nainital, Tehri, Haridwar, Pauri and Champawat including Dehradun.
