Recruitment rally of ‘Agniveers’ in Uttarakhand will start on August 19

The recruitment rally of ‘Agniveers’ in Uttarakhand will begin on August 19 and will continue till September 12. For this the process of online registration has started through the website of Army.

In a meeting of Army officers with State Chief Secretary Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and senior police officers, Army Zonal Recruiting Officer Major General N.S. Rajpurohit informed that the recruitment rally for all the districts of Garhwal region of Uttarakhand will be held in Kotdwar from August 19 to August 31.

He said that the recruitment rally for Almora, Bageshwar, Nainital and Udham Singh Nagar in Kumaon region would be held in Ranikhet from August 20 to 31 and in Pithoragarh for Champawat and Pithoragarh from September 5 to 12.

Sandhu assured the Major General that the state government would extend all possible support to the army in the recruitment process. He said that the government would make every effort that the youth of the state should not face any problem in joining the recruitment process.

The Chief Secretary asked the District Magistrates and Superintendents of Police to depute nodal officers for the orderly conduct of the recruitment process and make proper arrangements for electricity, water, sanitation, toilets along with accommodation for the youth during the rally.

He asked the officers to make arrangements for ambulances, medical officers etc. at the recruitment site and the Transport Department to arrange buses to facilitate the youth to travel to the recruitment sites.

The Chief Secretary asked the police to run a special drive to prevent incidents like fraud and transactions in the name of recruitment in the recruitment process. He also asked for constant surveillance of the recruitment site and the surrounding areas through cameras and artificial intelligence.
