57.64 percent voting in Kedarnath by-election, result will be declared on 23rd Nov

The much-awaited and much talked about Kedarnath assembly seat by-election of Uttarakhand concluded on Wednesday, November 20. Women voters once again left men far behind in terms of voting numbers. According to the preliminary report, 57.64 percent voting has taken place in the by-election.

There were a total of 90,875 voters in the Kedarnath assembly seat. Voting was slow in the morning. Voting picked up pace after noon. Both the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress are hoping for victory. The counting of votes for the by-election is to be held on November 23. The fate of the 6 candidates in the fray will be decided on Saturday.
