Date for opening of Kedarnath Dham in 2025 announced on Mahashivratri

The doors of Kedarnath Dham, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva, the main one in Panch Kedar, will be opened on 2nd May 2025 at 7 am. The date of opening of the doors of Baba Kedar was announced on the holy festival of Mahashivratri.

The date of opening of the doors of Shri Kedarnath Dham was decided in the presence of Rawal Bhimashankar of Kedarnath today on the occasion of Mahashivratri at Panchkedar Gaddi Sthal Omkareshwar Temple. The date and time of opening of the doors of the temple was announced according to the Panchang calculation by the Acharya. Every year during winters Kedarnath is closed for six months due to heavy snowfall. During this time devotees visit Omkareshwar temple located in Ukhimath.
