Heavy rains cause damage in Kedarnath
Heavy rains are wreaking havoc in Uttarakhand. Cloudburst has been reported in Kedarnath area late last night. The water level of Mandakini river increased after incessant rains. Landslides and rockfalls were reported on Kedarnath route. The police-administration teams were present on the spot.
It has been told that around 9 o’clock in the night, the water level of Mandakini river near Gaurikund suddenly increased after heavy rain. For safety, the devotees have been stopped at safe places for the time being. The police-administration and SDRF team are completely on alert mode.
Superintendent of Police Vishakha Ashok Bhadane said that heavy rain is falling on the Kedarnath trek route. Landslide has been reported between Bhimbali-Jungalchatti. The police has been alerted on the entire Yatra route.
