Helicopter makes emergency landing at Kedarnath due to technical snag
A major accident was averted in Kedarnath. This accident was avoided due to the quick thinking of the helicopter pilot. An emergency landing of a helicopter filled with passengers took place this morning at Kedarnath. As per information received, the rudder of the helicopter got damaged.
The pilot showed wisdom and made an emergency landing of the helicopter. The pilgrims heaved a sigh of relief after the helicopter landed safely. Helicopter service in Kedarnath has always been risky. There have been 10 accidents in Kedarnath in the last 11 years.
District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar said that today at 7 am on Friday, the chopper had taken off for Kedarnath carrying six passengers. Due to a technical glitch, the helicopter made an emergency landing about 100 meters before the Kedarnath helipad.
