Tungnath portals to close on November 7 for winter season
The doors of the famous third Kedar Tungnath among the Panchkedars, Tungnath will be closed as per rituals for the winter season 2022 at 11.30 am on Monday, 7 November. Whereas the doors of the second Kedar Madmaheshwar will be closed at 8 am on November 18. After the closure of the doors of Tungnath, the moving Deity procession of Tungnath will reach the first stop Chopta on this day and will rest for the night here. On the second day on November 8, it will reach Bhankund via Bantoli and will stay overnight in Bhankund. In the morning of November 9, the procession will reach its winter seat Markandeya Temple Makkumath.
More than one lakh devotees visited
The doors of Tungnath were opened for devotees on 6 May this year. After the opening of the doors, a large number of pilgrims reached one of Lord Shiva’s highest temple in the world. For the first time this has happened that more than one lakh devotees have reached Tungnath and the employment of the local people, which was stalled due to Corona epidemic for two years, got back on track. Along with hotels, restaurants and dhabas, small to big traders have benefited. Business worth crores has also been done due to the high number of pilgrims this season.
