Two day start-up boot camp held at ITI Raitoli, Rudraprayag
A two-day start-up boot camp was organized at the Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) Raitoli, Rudraprayag under the joint aegis of Directorate of Industries, Uttarakhand, District Industry Center Rudraprayag and IIM Kashipur on May 28 and 29. The objective of this program was to promote the culture of start-up and innovation in the district, to awaken the consciousness of entrepreneurship among the youth and to motivate them towards becoming self-reliant. In this boot camp, experts from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Kashipur gave detailed information to the students on the nuances of start-up, innovation, business plan making and investment possibilities. The presentations, success stories and videos shared by the experts increased the interest and confidence of the students towards innovation. In the program, officials of various departments, experts and successful entrepreneurs shared their experiences with the students.
These speakers guided the students on topics such as use of local resources in innovation, business possibilities in rural environment, starting a business by taking advantage of government schemes. Prof. Shaukat Ali and Start-up Head Ram Prakash from IIM Kashipur conducted special sessions and said that in the present times, start-up is not just a business concept but a process based on new thinking and solutions. He said that many opportunities for innovation are available even in hilly areas, which the local youth can adopt wisely and touch new heights of success. During the boot camp, the students also presented their innovative ideas and received guidance from the team of IIM Kashipur towards starting a start-up. At the end of the program, the speakers urged the students to recognize their inner talent, not to be afraid of taking risks and keep striving towards innovation with positive thinking.
Such events not only provide direction to the students but also strengthen the possibilities of employment generation at the local level. On this occasion, Principal of ITI Raitoli Pawan Butola, General Manager of District Industries Center, Rudraprayag Mahesh Prakash, Manager Ankit Kandhari, Director of RSETI Kishan Rawat, District Employment Officer Sushil Chandra Chamoli, Incubator Manager Mahavir Singh Bisht, local entrepreneur Balwant Singh Rawat, Prakash Singh and Asha Devi along with many officers and experts were present.
