Uttarakhand weather update: Rain in Badrinath- Kedarnath

There was light rain in Kedarnath on Sunday late evening, while the first snowfall of the season occurred on the high hills, due to which the cold has started increasing in Kedar valley. The weather in the Dham was pleasant since morning. As the day progressed, the enthusiasm of the Yatra in the Dham was at its peak amid bright sunshine. Light clouds started covering the Dham after noon.

At the same time, the weather became cold in Badrinath Dham also due to rain for about one and a half hours on Sunday evening. Dense fog covered the Himalayan hills. After six o’clock in the evening, light rain started in Kedarnath, which continued for half an hour, while there was heavy snowfall on the upper hills of Chorabari, Vasukital.

CEO of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Yogendra Singh said, due to snowfall on the upper hills, the cold has increased in Kedarnath in the evening. Here, the weather remained clear throughout the day in other areas of the district including the district headquarters Rudraprayag and bright sunshine remained.
