ISRO gives update on Gaganyaan’s first test flight

Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) will launch the first test flight of its first human space mission in December this year. No human will be sent in it. Robot Vyom Mitra will be sent in the second flight of the mission and four astronauts will be sent in the third flight. ISRO has not yet told the time of the second and third flights.

ISRO Chairman S. Somnath said – ‘The hardware of the mission’s rocket has reached Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota. At the same time, work is going on on the crew-module at Vikram Sarabhai Space Center in Trivandrum. It is expected that this work will be completed by November.’

Gaganyaan’s human mission will be of 3 days, under which the team of astronauts will be sent to the Earth’s orbit 400 KM above. After this, the crew module (in which the astronauts sit) will be safely landed in the sea. If India succeeds in this mission, it will become the fourth country to do so. Before this, America, China and Russia have done this.

On August 15, ISRO has released a video of the training of astronauts of Gaganyaan mission. The video shows that astronauts are being trained in a simulated condition like space.

ISRO shared this video on the social media platform ‘X’. In the video, astronauts are doing yoga inside the space module. They are being trained according to the spacecraft, zero gravity and other challenges in space.

India will celebrate National Space Day (NSD) on 23 August 2024. On this day last year, ISRO’s Chandrayaan-3 landed near the South Pole of the Moon. Preparations for National Space Day are going on across the country. ISRO Chief Dr. S Somnath has appealed to the people across the country to participate in this celebration.
