An 18 year old cricketer from Uttarakhand’s Bageshwar is turning heads in the ongoing U-19 world cup with his raw pace. While the senior pros find it difficult to breach the 145 km/hr mark, Kamlesh Nagarkoti clocked 146.8 km/hr in India’s opening match against Australia. The pacer took 3 wickets in 7 overs to help India defeat Australia by 100 runs.
1st match and almost breaks world record
Kamlesh Nagarkoti’s 146.8km/hr delivery was just short of the world record of 147 km/hr thunderbolt sent by Alzari Joseph in 2016. Coached by Team India’s Mr Dependable Rahul Dravid, India U-19 team is looked as a favorite to win the tournament. Seeing the pace of Kamlesh Nagarkoti’s bowling, cricket legends are also surprised. Former West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop said that this young fast bowler of India has a great potential. There is also control over Line and length with speed of Nagarkoti. It can not be taught to throw a fast ball, it happens by its own hard work.
