19 year Iga Swiatek wins maiden French Open
Teenager Iga Swiatek won the French Open 2020 without dropping a set. She became the first player from Poland to achieve the feat. Swiatek defeated reigning Australian Open champion Sofia Kennin 6-4, 6-1. The nineteen-year-old player ranked 54th and had never won a Tour level title. In no Grand Slam she went beyond the fourth round. She became the lowest ranked player to reach the women’s singles final at Roland Garros since the computer ranking began in 1975.
