All England Open 2025: Lakshya Sen defeats defending champion Jonatan Christie
India’s star badminton player Lakshya Sen defeated defending champion Jonatan Christie in the round of 16 at the All England Open 2025 being played in Birmingham on Thursday, March 13. Lakshya dominated the third seeded Indonesian star and won the men’s singles match 21-13, 21-10 in straight games. This match between the two players lasted 36 minutes.
This is Lakshya’s third win over Christie. He defeated Christie in the semi-finals of the All England Open last year. Earlier, Lakshya had defeated the Indonesian player in a group-stage match at the Paris Olympics to finish fourth.
Lakshya dominated the match from the beginning. He constantly forced Christie to play extra shots in the rallies, forcing him to make mistakes. During the second game, Christie tried to make a comeback but the Indian shuttler did not give him a single chance to make a mistake.
