Australia defeats India in Melbourne Test; lead BGT 2-1

The Indian team has lost the fourth Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia by 184 runs. Opener Yashasvi Jaiswal top scored in the second innings with 84 runs. When Yashasvi’s wicket fell, India had to play 22 overs and 3 wickets were left to draw the match. From here India could have drawn the match. But after Yashasvi’s dismissal, India’s lower order collapsed.
On Monday, Team India faced this situation due to the continued poor performance of the top order batsmen. Apart from Yashasvi, the opening 3 batsmen Rohit Sharma (9), KL Rahul (0) and Virat Kohli (5) could not reach double figures.
Yashasvi recovered the team from the initial setbacks by sharing an 88-run partnership with Rishabh Pant, but Pant lost his wicket by playing a bad shot. After this, the wickets of Jadeja and Reddy also fell quickly. Yashasvi Jaiswal (84 runs) was out due to a controversial decision. He was declared not out by the field umpire, but the third umpire gave him out.
Australia captain Cummins took 2 wickets in the same over. He took 3 wickets in the innings. Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland, Nathan Lyon and Travis Head got one wicket each.
