Bumrah, Dhawan to make comeback after injuries in T20 against Sri Lanka
The Indian team has played its last match of 2019. This year was the most spectacular for the entire team, especially Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami. Rohit Sharma scored the most runs in ODI cricket this year. Mohammed Shami was the most successful ODI bowler in 2019. But these two players will not be seen in India’s first series next year. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to rest these two during the first series to be held next year.
India has to play the first series next year against Sri Lanka. The series will begin on January 5 in Guwahati. BCCI chief selector MSK Prasad said on Monday that Rohit Sharma and Mohammed Shami have not been included in the Indian team. On the other hand, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, who has been out for almost four months, will return to the team. Opener Shikhar Dhawan has also returned to the team.
Rohit Sharma is the highest run-scorer in ODIs in 2019. He has scored 1490 runs in 28 matches this year. Mohammed Shami has taken 42 wickets in 21 matches in 2019. He was the most successful bowler of ODI cricket this year.
Jaspreet Bumrah returns after 4 months
Jasprit Bumrah has been out of Team India for almost four months. He played the last match against West Indies in September this year. Shikhar Dhawan could not play in the series that ended recently against the West Indies due to injury. Dhawan had to drop out of Team India due to injury during World Cup too.
The T20 series will be played between India and Sri Lanka from January 5. There will be three matches in this series. The first match will be played in Guwahati. After this, second match will be played in Indore on 7 January and Pune on 10 January. Indian team will play ODI series with Australia after Sri Lanka. Australia’s team will come to India to play this series.
