Commonwealth Games 2022: Lawn Ball team ensures historic medal for India

In the first three days of the Commonwealth Games 2022, India has won a total of 6 medals. So far 3 gold have come in India’s bag and on the fourth day of the competition, India will add some more medals to its tally.

Another success for India in Judo
In the women’s 48kg category, Sushila Devi defeated Prinilla Morand of Mauritius 10-0. Sushila Devi has been assured of atleast silver medal.
Squash- Sunayna Sara Kuruvilla reaches semi-finals
Sunayna Sara Kuruvilla made it to the semi-finals in the squash match. She defeated Chanithama Sinalaya of Sri Lanka 11-3, 11-2, 11-2. Tomorrow will be the semifinal match.
Swimming – Sajan Prakash finished 7th
India’s Sajan Prakash finished 7th in the men’s 100m butterfly event. He took 54.36 seconds to complete the race. He was ranked 19th. He could not qualify in the next round i.e. Top-16.
Boxing- Amit Panghal won the match 5-0
In men’s 51 kg boxing match, Amit Panghal defeated Namri Berry of Vanuatu in a one-sided match. Berry suffered a defeat in the third round. Amit won the match 5-0. With this, Amit Panghan has made it to the quarterfinals.
Judo – Sushila Devi enters semi-finals
Sushila Devi Likambam made it to the semi-finals in the women’s 48kg category of Judo. She defeated Malawi player Harriet Boniface 10-0.
Medal assured in Lawn Ball
The Indian team of Lovely Choubey, Pinky, Nayanmoni and Rupa Rani made their way into the finals with their comebacks after falling behind in the match against New Zealand. The Kiwi team showed a great game and took a 6-0 lead. After the 5th end, the Indian team was trailing 3-6. With a spectacular comeback, the Indian team took the lead. The Indian team was assured of a medal after winning 16-13.
