ICC makes some changes in its ranking system every year. This brings a slight change in the ranking of many players. With this, Virat’s points increased from 897 to 909, due to which he created a record of 900 plus rating points even in the shortest format.

Virat had 897 rating points on 7 September 2014. Kohli has also been the number-1 batsman for 1202 consecutive days in this format. After achieving 909 points, he became the third batsman to achieve the best rating points in T20 history. England’s David Malan is at first place with 919 points and India’s Suryakumar Yadav is at second place with 912 rating points.

Became number-1 in all three formats simultaneously in 2018
