India defeats Pakistan 4-0 in SAAF Football championships 2023
The Indian team has started on a strong note in the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) SAFF Football Championship which started in India. India defeated Pakistan in their first match of Group-A played at Sri Kanteerava Stadium in Bangalore on Wednesday. In this match, Indian captain Sunil Chhetri scored a hat-trick by scoring 3 goals helping the men in blue to a win. Udanta Singh scored the fourth goal for team India.
In this interesting match, Sunil Chhetri scored the first goal for India in the 10th minute of the match to put India ahead 1-0. This was Sunil Chhetri’s 88th international goal. Just 6 minutes later, Chhetri scored on the penalty corner to put India ahead 2-0. The Indian team maintained its lead till half time.
Career’s fourth hat-trick for Chhetri
Even after the start of the second half, the Pakistani team looked outmatched in front of India. Pakistan’s defenders tried to stop the Indian strikers for some time, but in the 74th minute of the match, Sunil Chhetri once again scored a goal to put the Indian team ahead 3-0. With this third goal, Sunil Chhetri completed his hat-trick in the match. This was his fourth career hat-trickĀ and first against Pakistan.
Udanta Singh scored a goal in the 81st minute of the match to make the match 4-0 in favor of India. This lead of India remained till the end of the match and Pakistan could not score any goal. With this, India won the match by 4-0.
