India vs England 4th test ends in draw; Gill, Jadeja and Sundar hit centuries in second innings

India drew the Manchester Test after showing fight in the second innings. Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar and KL Rahul batted together for 142 overs and turned the team’s defeat into a draw. Rahul was out after scoring 90 runs, the other three batsmen scored centuries.
With the fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy being drawn, Team India is still in the series. The team can now draw the series 2-2 by winning the fifth Test. However, if India loses, England will win the series 3-1. Even if the last match is drawn, the series will be won by England 2-1.
In this 5-day match, Team India was trailing England by 311 runs in the first innings. Not only this, the team lost two wickets for zero in the second innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal (zero) and Sai Sudarshan (zero) returned to the pavilion in the first over.
More than one and a half days of play were left from here and Team India had only 8 wickets left. In such a situation, opener KL Rahul (90 runs) shared a 188-run partnership in 421 balls for the third wicket with captain Shubman Gill (103 runs) and brought India back, but both these batsmen who were unbeaten on day 4, returned to the pavilion before lunch on the last day of the match on Sunday. In the process Gill went past 700 runs in the series and also became the first captain to hit 4 centuries in his captaincy debut series.
All-rounder Washington Sundar (101* runs), who replaced wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant, shared an unbeaten 203-run partnership in 334 balls for the fifth wicket with Ravindra Jadeja (107*) and drew the match. This was the maiden ton for Washington .
India scored 358 runs in the first innings and England scored 669 runs at Old Trafford Stadium on the back of 150 from Joe Root and 141 from skipper Ben Stokes. India scored 425 runs at the loss of 4 wickets in the second innings and drew the match. With this result, India kept alive the hopes of drawing the 5 match series.
