IPL 2025: Dhoni himself answers the question of retirement

Chennai Super Kings veteran Mahendra Singh Dhoni is almost 44 years old and still is an active player in the IPL. There has been a lot of discussion about Dhoni’s retirement so far from fans and critics alike. But Dhoni himself has now answered the question of retirement. According to a report, Dhoni said that he will play for now. Dhoni’s performance has not been the best in IPL 2025. He is coming to bat much lower than his normal position and has been unable to take the team home so far.
Dhoni has answered the question related to retirement. According to the Hindustan Times report, Dhoni said, “I am still playing. I am not thinking about retirement right now. I take it very simply one year at a time. I am 43 years old now. I will be 44 in July. After this I will have 10 months to think about when to retire. It is not that I will take this decision, but my body will tell when to retire.”
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has played four matches so far in this season of IPL and he has not been able to conjure yesteryear magic during this time. Dhoni could not bat against Mumbai Indians. He returned to the pavilion after scoring 30 runs against RCB. He was out after scoring 16 runs against Rajasthan Royals. He remained unbeaten after scoring 30 runs against Delhi Capitals. But could not get CSK to a win.
Dhoni’s T20 record has been like this so far
Dhoni’s overall T20 record has been excellent. He has played 395 T20 matches so far in which he has scored 7508 runs during this period including 28 half-centuries in this format. Dhoni’s best T20 score has been 84 not out.
