IPL 2025: KKR trapped in Chahal’s spin, Punjab create history by defending 111 runs

Punjab has created history by defending the lowest score ever in IPL history. In the 31st match of IPL 2025 played in Mullanpur, Punjab first scored 111 runs in 15.3 overs and then bundled out KKR for 95 runs in 15.1 overs. Chahal, who played an important role in Punjab’s victory, took 4 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs, due to which he was given the Player of the Match award.

Punjab bowlers bowled brilliantly to defend 111 runs, apart from Yuzvendra Chahal, fast bowler Marco Jansen took three wickets and the rest of the bowlers took one wicket each, due to which Punjab managed to defend the lowest score in the history of IPL.
KKR’s poor batting
Chasing 112 runs, Kolkata lost both their openers Sunil Narine (5) and Quinton de Kock (2) in quick succession. After that, captain Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi took a cautious approach and brought the team to 55/2 at the end of the powerplay. Both of them shared a 60-run partnership and put KKR on the path to winning the match.
