Jyoti-Rishabh pair wins gold medal in Archery World Cup Stage 1

Days after compound archery was included in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games, the Indian team of Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Rishab Yadav won the gold medal in the compound mixed team event at the 2025 Archery World Cup Stage 1 in Florida, USA on Saturday. It was the first compound mixed team medal match of the 2025 Archery World Cup.
The Indian team defeated the pair of Huang I-Jou and Chen Chieh-Lun of Chinese Taipei 153-151 in a closely fought gold medal match on Saturday morning. The Indian pair of former World Cup winners Jyoti Surekha and Rishab came back after losing the first end, in which each archer shot 2 arrows (total 4 in case of mixed doubles), to score 37-38. They managed to score two 9s and two 10s. Their opponents shot two 9s and a 10 in the inner circle (X).
The Indians lost the second end 38-39 and were trailing overall 75-77, despite scoring three 10s, a score of 8 put them behind. The Chinese Taipei pair shot X, 10, 10, X to win the end.
In the third end, the Indian pair of Jyoti and Rishab beat the Chinese Taipei pair 39-38 to bring the margin to 113-115. In the fourth and final end, the Indian team continued to perform better and scored 9,10,10, X, while the Chinese Taipei pair faltered and managed only 9, 9, 8, X. The Indians won the end 39-36 to win the gold medal match 153-151 and establish their dominance in compound archery.
