Ravindra Jadeja hands back CSK captaincy reigns to MS Dhoni

This happened for the first time in the history of IPL when a player left the captaincy in the middle of the league and again handed over this responsibility to the old captain. Just before the start of the 15th season of the IPL, MS Dhoni, left the captaincy of the team and Ravindra Jadeja was made the captain of the team, but once again this season after captaining in 8 matches. Jadeja left the captaincy of the team and handed over this responsibility to MS Dhoni.

After leaving the captaincy by Ravindra Jadeja, a statement was issued by CSK which said that Ravindra Jadeja took this decision to focus on his game and left the captaincy. At the same time, MS Dhoni also accepted Ravindra Jadeja’s request and told Ravindra Jadeja to focus on his game. In this season, CSK played a total of 8 matches under the captaincy of Ravindra Jadeja, in which the team has won only two matches and lost six matches. With four points from two matches, the team are currently ranked ninth in the points table and are struggling to maintain themselves in the playoff race.

Dhoni has been the most successful captain of the CSK team and under his captaincy this team has won the title four times. Although everyone was surprised after Dhoni stepped down as captain earlier this season, Jadeja’s decision to step down from the captaincy was even more surprising. However, CSK’s performance under Jadeja’s captaincy was not very good. During this season, Jadeja was also seen under the pressure of captaincy and he was not able to perform well neither in bowling nor in batting for his team.
